Sylvia Meehan
SIDE TRICEPS

Gerard Laraque

Lift your front leg's heel off the floor and contract your calf
This is to make your calf look as large as possible

Place your front foot slightly in front of or behind the other foot
This can create the illusion of having larger hams or quads respectively by having the rear leg stick out a little past the front leg and make the body part appear to be larger

Dip downward by bending your knees some
This creates a rounder curve in the back of the legs

Push your front leg's knee against the back leg
This helps bring out more lines in the side of your leg

Keep back perpendicular to the floor
Leaning forward, or backward, takes away from this pose's effectiveness

Take a deep breath in, expand rib cage, and pull the front (closest to judges) shoulder back
To make the upper body appear broader

Clasp hands, or grab wrist of front arm behind the back, press downward, and tense arms
To show more definition in the triceps

Twist somewhat to show more of a front angle to the judging panel
To appear wider

Blow air out, keep stomach flat (do not suck in/vacuum) and tense abs
To show abdominal definition in an aesthetic manner
