SIDE CHEST
Robert Carter Jr.

Take a deep breath in and expand your rib cage as much as you can
This makes your chest look as big as possible

Pull the front (closest to judge's) shoulder back
Many athletes roll the front shoulder forward because that makes the chest feel like it is contracted to a greater degree, but this makes the competitor appear smaller

Press your rear arm's bicep against your pec and push inward and upward
This emphasizes striations in the rear pec

Twist somewhat to show more of a front angle to the judging panel
This will make you appear wider

Keep your back perpindicular to the floor
Leaning forward takes away from this pose's effectiveness

Don't hunch your  rear shoulder up
Many competitors do this, but it takes away from the pose's effectiveness a little bit

Dip downward by bending your knees some
This creates a rounder curve in the back of the legs

Push your front leg's knee against the back leg
This helps bring out more lines in the side of your leg

Place your front foot slightly in front of or behind the other foot
This can create the illusion of having larger hams or quads respectively by having the rear leg stick out a little past the front leg and make the body part appear to be larger

Lift your front leg's heel off the floor and contract your calf
This is to make your calf look as large as possible
