Future Goals:
To help educate others and to continue to be a role model for kids by emphasizing the importance of exercise and eating right. Personally, I will continue weight lifting and doing cardio because I truly enjoy it. Mostly, I plan on getting more involved with the sports that my two boys, Anthony and Garrett, are interested in but were put on hold due to my training.

Doreen’s Tips:
If you are just thinking about bodybuilding, try it. “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” I started out saying I just want to do one show and that’s it. One lead to another and now I have a National title. Dreams can start small and grow as time passes. If I had not taken that first step I would have missed out on one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Once you decide to start training, find a trainer that is familiar with women’s natural bodybuilding. I would say the biggest factor in my success at the OCB Yorton Cup nationals was having a trainer I respected, and who had extensive, personal knowledge about the sport. A good trainer will not always tell you what you want to hear but he will tell you what you need to hear, the truth. Never let the truth discourage you; let it make you stronger and more determined to achieve your goal. You have to listen to your trainer inside and outside the gym. This is a 24-hour a day commitment and a good trainer will help you through every step of the process.

Additional Comments:
Own my own I could not have had the success in bodybuilding that I did. I share my title and accomplishment with my trainer and friend, Tony, who put as much time and effort into my training as I did! I can’t thank him enough for what he has done for me! Determination was all it took. Thank you!
