Ms. Fitness
Guidelines at OCB Produced Shows
Round 1 - Gown/Speech
Round 2 - Swimsuit
Round 3 - Routine
All
Ms. Fitness competitions offered
at OCB events are national qualifiers for Ms. Fitness USA. The top three
placements at each show qualify unless there are 11-20 competitors, in
which case the top 5 qualify. When over 20 competitors, the top 7
qualify.

Ms. Fitness USA takes
place in September each year in Las Vegas, NV. It features $20,000
in prize packages, is televised internationally on Fox Sports and is
prominently featured each year in Ms. Fitness Magazine. Top finishers at
Ms. Fitness USA qualify for Ms. Fitness World, which is held in Las
Vegas, NV the day after Ms. Fitness USA. Ms. Fitness World features
$25,000 in cash prizes, is also televised Internationally on Fox
Sports, and is prominently featured in Ms. Fitness Magazine as well.
All Ms. Fitness
competitions offered at OCB shows receive magazine coverage in
Ms. Fitness,
and
Fitness & Physique.
Ms. Fitness competitors must be members of the IFSB
(International Fitness Sanctioning Body). Membership forms are available
online at MsFitness.com. Cost is
$50 per year and includes a one-year subscription to Ms. Fitness
magazine. Memberships are good from the date of purchase through the
weekend of the Ms. Fitness USA and Ms. Fitness World held each year in
mid-September. When competitors register for IFSB membership, they must
indicate whether they wish to be classified as Pro or Amateur. Pro
status competitors receive any cash or prizes offered at Ms. Fitness
events. Amateur status competitors do not receive any cash/prizes that
may be offered at various events. The option of choosing to be pro, or
remaining amateur allows those who want to ensure competing as pro does
not disqualify them from amateur competition with any federations that
operate and still include in their guidelines amateur eligibility
requires not having won cash/prizes at any prior event.
The Gown & Speech Round is normally not performed at the finals portion of an
event.
The rounds are spaced out over the course of an event to allow
sufficient time for competitors to prepare for each portion.
Any OCB event that includes the offering of a Ms. Fitness division will
have staging at least 36’ wide and 24’ deep (if less than that, the
event would not be granted sanctioning to hold Ms. Fitness).
Contest
Guidelines
Note: in all
rounds competitors should maintain erect but relaxed posture.
Competitors should not flex or try to emphasize muscle size. This is not
a bodybuilding contest.

of the contestants.

introduced individually and perform a “T” walk to
house music. They will walk out to the rear center of the stage,
then walk up to the center front of the stage and perform a series of
quarter turns, then walk to stage left and pause briefly, then walk to
stage right and pause briefly, then walk to the front center of the

Contestants
will be judged on overall symmetry and muscle definition. Contestants
should have good to excellent muscle tone with clean, tight lines and
appear to have reasonable levels of body fat, not the muscle mass,
ripped to the bone, striated look, or vascularity of a bodybuilder.
Contestants should appear to have constructed their physiques through
proper diet and fitness training. NOTE: Competitors' heels should be
together at all times during quarter turns. They should not hold their
arms in a rigid or exaggerated manner. Their hair should be styled in a
manner that they do not have to move it aside to show their backs.
Scoring is based on contestants’ muscle tone, presence of clean, tight
lines (definition), levels of body fat, whether their physiques appear
evenly developed, and whether lean muscularity of the upper/lower body
and extremities flow aesthetically when viewed from all sides creating a
balanced, sculpted appearance. If a competitor has the mass or vascularity of a bodybuilder, she should receive a low score.
