DRUG
TESTING
Drug testing screening methods used at OCB events are a
means to determine eligibility. If competitors can not
successfully pass any screening methods used, they will
either not be allowed to compete if determined prior to the
event (Ex. Polygraph test), or will be disqualified and be
removed from official results if determined after an event
(Ex. Urine test).
Competitors cannot have used any substances indicated as
being banned for OCB competitions during the specified
duration periods. All OCB shows use at least one method of
screening for use of banned substances. Testing can be via
polygraph, urinalysis, or both at the discretion of the
show's promoter (effective January 1, 2009 all OCB events
will be required to include polygraph testing).
IFPA
Pro Qualifiers
OCB events that are designated as IFPA pro qualifiers
polygraph all Bodybuilding and Figure competitors, and
conduct urinalysis testing for Bodybuilding and Figure Open
division overall winners (competitors are mailed a copy of
their test results). Results from polygraph exams or
urinalysis for other contests (whether for OCB or other
federations) are not honored.
Competitors are responsible for ensuring they are tested at
events. Polygraph examiners supply the OCB home office with
a list of contestants tested after each show. Urinalysis
results come directly to the OCB home office. If it's
discovered any participants who should have been tested were
not, they will be disqualified and removed from the official
results. If any Open division overall winners do not provide
a urine sample at IFPA pro qualifiers, eligibility to
compete in the IFPA pro federation will be void.
Competitors participating in any Bodybuilding or Figure
division are subject to mandatory screening methods in place
for a show. Competitors participating in only Ms. Fitness,
Fitness Model or Body Transformation contestants are not.
However, note that forms of testing in addition to the
required may be requested of select Bodybuilding, Figure,
Ms. Fitness, Fitness Model or Body Transformation
competitors at any OCB event at the promoter's discretion
and expense. This could include polygraph, urinalysis, voice
stress, blood, saliva, hair testing or other means of
detection.
Competitors are ultimately responsible for substances they
take. If urine test results come back positive for any
banned substance, competitors are disqualified regardless of
what may have been responsible for the positive result.
